Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has told the BBC that peace with India over the disputed territory of Kashmir would be "tremendous" for the wider region. Mr Khan, a former cricketer who became leader eight months ago, said the nuclear-armed neighbours could only settle their differences with dialogue. The comments come as India prepares to vote in a general election, weeks after an upsurge of violence in Kashmir. A suicide attack against Indian forces triggered cross-border air strikes. Asked what message he wanted to send to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his country, Mr Khan told the BBC's John Simpson that the Kashmir issue "has to be settled" and "cannot keep boiling like it is". Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan, has threatened to ‘teach India a lesson’ in a warning against any attack on Pakistani-administered Kashmir. Pakistan responded furiously after India’s decision last week to revoke Indian-administered Kashmir’s special status, the most radical change since Kashmir joined the Indian union, comparing its government to Nazis and suggesting it might carry out ethnic cleansing. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan can't seem to stop making embarrassing gaffes on Twitter. At the UN Human Rights Council session held in Geneva on Thrusday, India, replying to Pakistan’s charges said Jammu and Kashmir is and will be an integral part of India and slammed Pakistan for interfering in the matter. They also added that Pakistan’s statements on Tuesday were “an ill-disguised effort to advance its territorial ambitions". #Akhada #Kashmir #POK Watch all the current, latest and breaking Hindi news only on NEWS18 India Live TV.
